What US software has to handle
The details that change a US build
Payments and tax. US checkouts usually run on Stripe, PayPal, Square or Braintree, and B2B invoices often need ACH bank debits. Sales tax depends on the buyer's state. We build checkout to call a tax engine such as Stripe Tax or Avalara, not hard-coded rates.
Sign-in and roles. Many US business customers ask for single sign-on and role-based access. Roles go into the data model from the first cycle, and single sign-on is its own line in the quote.
Health, children and accessibility. Software that handles patient data for a HIPAA covered entity needs a business associate agreement with every vendor that touches it. There is no official HIPAA certificate for software, so we scope safeguards and hosting to match. COPPA covers data from children under 13. For public apps, WCAG 2.1 AA is the working accessibility target.
Security questionnaires. We answer from what is true for our setup. We do not list a SOC 2 report on this site, so ask before you book.
